Late XIX Century Victorian Brooch made with very early synthetic material called Gutta Percha and very similar to the more well known Vulcanite. The dark brown color is very normal and typical of this materials from the XIX century and it is a product of the oxidation of the original black material, turning into brown.The brooch is a very special piece due the high quality of the relief sculptural crafts. The Brooch is in Very good antique condition.
