Small 925 sterling silver ashtray from Holland with a typical embossed Tavern Scene set on colonial Dutch era. Nicely detailed repousse silverwork, with elaborate neo-baroque floral design of the border and a traditional Dutch figural scene in the central part, featuring a group of trader or military men drinking from a pitcher and sitting at the table. The design is very vintage but the stamp of 925 sterling and absence of antique hallmarks lead to considering the piece as a modern one, still very inspired on the traditional dutch silversmith works; most probably vintage 1960s. In very good vintage condition.
