Exceptional and handsome antique 925 sterling silver and copper screw back earrings, made around the 1940s. These earrings were hand made by the Taxco (Mexico) silversmith Victoria-Ana Nunez de Brilanti (1910 – 1999). She opened her first shop, Victoria, in 1940. Victoria was noted for designs that feature Pre Hispanic or Pre Columbian elements. These earrings show an abstract design of Aztec symbol for water or corn. Victoria is also credited with introducing the metales casados (married metals) technique to Taxco. Very unique piece! Some scuff/scratches due to age, please refer to photos.
