Antique 1800s Chinese Export Silver metal lightweight filigree fingernail guard, which was traditionally worn in the Qing court. In ancient Chinese autocracy, the long beautiful nails represent the noble ranking. The reason is that only the noble well taken cared ladies could afford having long nails and not to use their hands for any labor use. This is why the nail ring (“Nail Guard”) which was used to protect the nails was considered the exclusive jewelry for the noble ladies. Especially in Qing Dynasty in China, the nail ring became extremely popular because of the influence of Empress CiXi.

Original Chinese Export Nail Guard adapted to be a Brooch Pin. It is marked Silver. All across length there are 7 good luck semi-precious stones in free form cabochons; one of the pieces is a real pearl. Condition: Pre owned. Appears overall good with some tarnishing in metal filigree. There is a crack and a small piece of the pearl missing. Please refers to provided images for actual condition, you will receive exactly the product on the photos. Stones and metal are untested.
