Sujets Musicaux Terre de Fer France. Charming vintage French Terre de Fer ironstone porcelain plate depicting on musical subjects. This plates subject is the opera Guillaume Tell by Gioachino Rossini. This piece of European 1900s decoration is hand painted with colorful details and was very popular at late Victorian Period. The size of this plate or dish is near of a luncheon or a bread plate but most probably that the original use was just for wall decoration. I have seen these plates dated from 1880 to 1930. I really don’t have a way to accurately date these.
In my research I have seen PV noted to mean Parry Vielle, an artisan associated to Limoges manufactures.
Condition: Has a few utensil marks visible under a bright light. Otherwise these plates are in excellent condition only a small amount of wear on the gold rim. The beauty and rarity of this set speaks for itself. Please examine the pictures carefully and reach out with any questions or to request more pictures.
