Lovely romantic 1800s Charles Meigh Tivoli Blue Transferware 8" Plate. This Rare plate is decorated with a palimpsest of scenes from Tivoli Italy including the Temple of Venus on the left of the frame, the waterfalls in the center, and a structure that may be the Villa d’Este on the right. The outer border depicts flowers and leaves. The colors are blue and biege. Marked C Meigh and Tivoli and has the impressed words "Improved Stone China" which dates it to the period 1835-1861. A very lovely piece in good antique condition. Glaze is smooth and and very shiny and bright. Typical crazing and some tiny staining spots on the edge, small chip on under side ring, moderated brown discoloration.
